Subject:NYC and Strasberg...
Hi Bella, I just got into the summer session at Strasberg and am super excited! I am a 26 year old from Sydney and have been working for the last 5 months doing children's theatre in Italy. Like you, I'm just trying to work out how I can afford to do the course and live in NYC... but I'm passionate about it so there's always a way! :) I know you are probably one busy woman but any tips about the course or the city you could provide would be much appreciated. Great book! Great Story! I only hope I can have as much adventure in NYC as you! Casey

Subject:Your book
Bought the book months ago and finally reading it now. The James era was so fraught, (well-written but upsetting) that I nearly had to abandon it. Am loving Axel but afraid he will break your heart so steeling myself. The descriptions of your training and performing are inspiring especially set against the everyday grind of trying to survive. Makes we wish I was young again.

Hey Bella, There I was reading the back of your book when I realised this would be perfect for my "secret santa pressie", being a girl in our office who often gets parts in plays in those non paying productions but has loads of talent. Anyways that arvo whilst waiting for my daughter to finish work I thought I would read the first few pages to make sure I hadn't bought a "dud", well I couldn't put the book down and was soon finding myself reading it ever so carefully in order that it did not look like some "2nd hand pressie"!! Anyways after very carefully turning the pages and trying not to crease the outside I relented and bought my own copy! - Love it. My daughter also read it so I hope she continues to follow her dream as she leaves for Brisbane next week to do drama/film and television. I hope there is a sequeal. Cheers for the laughs Kerry

Hi Bella, I've just bought your book and have been scaring people on the train to work the last couple of days as I chortle my way through your adventures and misadventures. Then when I googled you just now I saw your picture and had a flashback - by any chance was one of your soul-destroying temp jobs in Sydney at the ABC switchboard? I think I remember you coming in for a couple of days between film shoots. This would have been about 2001-2002 at the ABC in Ultimo. Anyway, I have to admit that as I write this I am on a temp assignment BUT at the end of the year am moving to my 50acre bush block in Tassie (that I bought with the money from the years of temping!) to fulfil my dreams of writing, making sculpture, and living off the land. Anyway, thanks for your fantastic book, you are a beacon to all of out there living lives of quiet desperation and trying to keep the dream (whatever it may be) alive!! Miriam :)

So after that me and my sister read your book and both lovbed it! she visited new york on her gap year and she said she would definately love to go live there. i myself found your book a great read and very inspiring. especialy your chapter titles! and when i go on my gap year new york will definately be on my list of countrys to visit. warm regards Corin from the land of the long white cloud.

Subject:Your Book,
Hi Bella,Im an old freind of your parents from Waiheke days, and i finished reading your book a few weeks ago, and found it a very engaging yarn,Full of lifes ups and downs and very funny. Its a lesson in making the most of our oppertunities when they come along, and in your case going after them as well! I wish I had the guts and foresight in my own career! Danny & Rosie were up here on the cntral coast visiting us about a month ago, when a friend of ours popped in and we introduced her to them. About 2 weeks after she asked me if the Vendraminis we had staying when she had popped in,were the parents of an Actress called Bela?Yes! Well she said, my daughter was sitting in the car outside at the time... reading... her book!! One of lifes amazing coincidences eh. I just thought id share that with you! ...althebest...Mike

Hi Bella :) I'm from Sydney currently living in Melbourne - I went to NYC for the first time in December last year and bought your book to read on the plane. It was so absolutely fantastic I can't begin to tell you - I was reading each page and thinking my GOD, this is so me - but I don't have the guts to go over and enrol for training at the Strasberg school! I really hope you are sucessful as an actress and I look forward to seeing your name pop up more frequently - regardless, if you are passionate about it I think you will have no trouble becoming an author either if you chose to do so. Good Luck with everything, and thank you for writing that book because it gave me the chance to pretend that I might have the courage to be as gutsy as you one day ;) Tanya :)
